The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region failed to achieve transparency in revenue and expenditure in his party's jurisdiction. The Ibrahim Khalil border crossing generates more revenue than all other border crossings in the Kurdistan Region combined.

Attempts to cover up the failures of the Prime Minister

Balanbo Mohammed, a member of the PUK faction in the Kurdistan Parliament, stated to PUKMEDIA: "Several MPs from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) faction are seeking to blame the PUK to cover up the failures of the Prime Minister, even though the Prime Minister has failed to achieve financial transparency even in his own party's zone as no one knows how much revenue is generated from the largest border crossing in the Kurdistan Region, which is Ibrahim Khalil, and where the revenue goes."

"The significant powers of the Kurdistan Region are vested in the KDP. Therefore, the KDP should take the blame and not escape responsibility for the terrible situation that they have brought upon the people of the Kurdistan Region," he said.  "Since he only sees himself as the Prime Minister of Duhok, Zakho, and a portion of Erbil, the prime minister has been unable to lead the Kurdistan Region."

The Prime Minister wants to blame others

In the past and present, the KDP, which runs the presidency in the Kurdistan Region, has sought to neglect Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, Raparin, and Garmian and has divided Erbil into two zones, poor and rich, which is another detrimental component of the statehood that the KDP is pursuing as well as its failure in governance.

“Throughout the previous and current cabinet and the previous cabinets, which were run by the KDP, not only Sulaymaniyah and Halabja, the government has not been able to serve Erbil and divided the city into the rich and the poor and neglected the poor neighborhoods. This is the Kurdistan Region's Prime Minister, who has failed to achieve transparency in revenue and expenditure in his party's region”, said MP Mohammed.

The Prime Minister failed to be the Prime Minister of the whole Kurdistan Region

The Kurdistan Region's reputation has been damaged because of the Prime Minister's stubbornness and disregard for the demands of the parties.

Shirin Younis, a PUK faction MP in the Kurdistan Parliament, told PUKMEDIA: "The PUK has repeatedly advised the KDP to change its course of governance to avoid failure, but they stubbornly ignored our demands and brought this undesirable state upon the Kurdistan Region."

"We wish the Prime Minister could lead the entire Kurdistan Region, but his narrow partisan mentality has made him a weak leader," MP Younis said.

The Kurdistan Region's entity requires the resignation of Masrour Barzani

The Prime Minister's flaws call for his resignation to save the people of the Kurdistan Region and the parties from the mess he has created.

"Because of all of his failures, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region should have resigned before being dubbed a caretaker Prime Minister by the people and other parties calling for his resignation," MP Younis stated.

This cabinet is regarded as the worst in the Kurdistan Regional Government's history, owing to a lack of financial transparency and poor relations between the parties, particularly between the PUK and KDP, the two main ruling parties, which are at an all-time low.

Peace and human rights are under attack, and the Kurdistan Region's existence is threatened. Furthermore, freedom of expression in the Kurdistan Region is at an all-time low, and the region's reputation has suffered consequently because of this policy.
