A delegation from the Iraqi parliament arrived in Sulaymaniyah Province to inspect the site of the Sulaymaniyah International Airport attack. A high-level military and security delegation started an investigation for the same purpose.

Earlier, an MP from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan faction in the Iraqi Parliament, Karwan Yarwais, told PUKMEDIA: "Following the attack on Sulaymaniyah Airport, the first Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament appointed the parliamentary security and defense committee to look into the circumstances surrounding the assault and attempted assassination of Mazlum Abdi and several US commanders at Sulaymaniyah International Airport."

A high-level Iraqi delegation and several security officers attended the location of the incident at Sulaymaniyah International Airport after the attempted assassination on April 8, 2023, to conduct an investigation.

Meanwhile, Mazloum Abdi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, tweeted: "The accusations against the Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) forces are to hide and distort the facts." "Our forces are on duty and in constant coordination with our regional partners, and we want to clarify that the CTG was with us at Sulaymaniyah airport on the day of the targeting," he said.

The attack on the Sulaymaniyah airport is an international law violation
Turkey is violating international law by trespassing on the airspace and territory of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. "The attack on the Kurdistan Region and the Sulaymaniyah airport is unjustified and dangerous for Iraq," said the Chairman of the Iraqi Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee.
