President Bafel: Parties should not be allowed to determine the communities' fate

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Rayan Al-Kildani, Secretary General of the Babylon Movement, in Baghdad.

The two parties emphasized the expansion of coordination and development of relations between political parties and all nationalities and minorities in order to reach a national accord and advance the country's stability.

The meeting also addressed the fate and representation of minorities in legal and constitutional institutions, with President Bafel stating: "The PUK strongly opposes any attempt to jeopardize the spirit of unity and coexistence."

"We respect all nationalities and communities, and no political party should be allowed to determine their fate," he added.
