PUK Politburo: May this Newroz serve as a cornerstone of peace, serenity, and prosperity

The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) warmly congratulates the Kurdish people and all the peoples of the region on the occasion of Newroz and the Kurdish New Year of 2723. 

In a message, the PUK Political Bureau stated:

We warmly congratulate the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region on the national holiday of Newroz and the Kurdish New Year of 2723. We sincerely hope this year's Newroz will be a cornerstone of peace, serenity, and prosperity.

Newroz, or the renewal of nature, is also the holiday of freedom fighters and the Kurdish uprising against oppression and coincides with the commemoration of the Kurdish people's victories in the 1991 uprising in Kirkuk.

On this occasion, we reaffirm our dedication to the PUK's ongoing fight for our people's unmet needs and rights within the confines of the Federal Republic of Iraq's constitutional principles.

We also pay our respects to the souls of the Kurdish liberation movement martyrs, their families, and the defenders of our people's achievements and freedoms.
