President Bafel and Russian Ambassador's meeting

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Russian Ambassador to Iraq Elbrus Kotrashev.

The political and economic situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq was discussed during the meeting, which was attended by Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, a member of the Executive Board of the Political Bureau, and it was stressed that negotiations must continue in order to reach a national agreement and advance toward stability.

"Our attempts to address the issues continue and we want to reach a constructive and satisfied solution," stated President Bafel Jalal Talabani in reference to the PUK's efforts to put an end to the conflict. He continued, "We are dedicated to serving the region's highest interests and the welfare of our people in every way possible."
