Qubad Talabani and Mohammed Shia' Sudani meet in Sulaymaniyah
Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani received Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Sudani and discussed the latest political developments and relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad.
The meeting, which was held on Wednesday in Sulaymaniyah Province, stressed the importance of commitment to a constitutional solution to the issues.
In relation to the budget bill's approval in the Iraqi Council of Ministers, both parties agreed that it was crucial for both governments to be committed to placing the budget bill into effect soon after it was approved in parliament and that there should not be any excuses or obstacles put in the way of financial entitlements.
Qubad Talabani continued, "The points linked to the Kurdistan Region in the budget bill are all implementable," emphasizing that there is no other course of action than to agree for the sake of the public interest.
Qubad Talabani concluded by thanking the Iraqi Prime Minister for coming to Sulaymaniyah, expressing his endless support for the success of Sudani's cabinet, and hoping that by working together, they can overcome the obstacles and better serve the people.
The meeting was attended by the Iraqi ministers of planning, interior, and migration, as well as the planning minister for the Kurdistan Region, the Halabja and Sulaymaniyah governors, and the directors of Garmian and Raparin administrative units.
