On the sidelines of the Sulaymaniyah Forum, Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with a high-level US delegation led by Terry Wolff, the Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.

President Bafel Jalal Talabani presented the PUK's perspective on the general political, economic, and security dynamics in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region at the meeting and emphasized the importance of ongoing dialogue and constructive efforts between Iraq and the region to address challenges.

While discussing the political and administrative challenges in the region and the PUK's efforts to settle the disputes, President Bafel stated, "The PUK believes in collaboration and teamwork, and we want to find solutions to the issues so that we can advance the development of the region and provide for the needs of our citizens."

Another topic covered during the meeting was the issue of energy and the actions needed to bring the Peshmerga forces together. President Bafel said, "Energy has to be used for the benefit of the public, and its profits should be put toward enhancing public welfare." "We have taken concrete steps to reunite and reform the Peshmerga forces, and our goal is a powerful national force, for which we consider the support of the allies, especially the United States, crucial," he added.
