President Bafel on Uprising Anniversary: PUK is for all of Kurdistan

In honor of the anniversary of the Kurdish uprising, Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), declared that the PUK belongs to all of Kurdistan. 

Today, Sunday, March 5, 2023, coincides with the anniversary of the Kurdish uprising in the Ranya town of Sulaymaniyah. President Bafel and many of PUK's Political Bureau and Leadership Council members attended the commemorative ceremony at the Raparin Monument in Ranya. 

President Bafel laid a wreath on the monument and delivered a speech saying: "I'm sorry, the PUK is not happy with the situation in Kurdistan, but the PUK is strong and capable today, though I am not talking about a green or yellow zone, so stop saying that because the PUK is for all of Kurdistan." 

"The PUK is the owner and representative of all of Kurdistan," he continued. Therefore, "We will make every effort to protect the unity of Kurdistan, and I vow to make every effort to unite Kurdistan."

"Let's use this anniversary as an opportunity to give a hand of peace to all Kurdish forces who want to reconcile and serve our nation," he added. "If the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) wants this, we are ready to extend a hand of peace; if they don't, they will lose."

"Kurdistan belongs to us, and we will make it green together," he said.
