PUK and five other parties demand free and fair elections

PUK receives a delegation of five Kurdish parties
To further develop cooperation and party struggle in the political process of the Kurdistan Region, a joint delegation of five Kurdish parties accompanied Rizgar Ali, a member of the Executive Board of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's (PUK) Political Bureau, Amin Baba Sheikh, the Head of the PUK's Relations Bureau, and Salar Sarhad, Head of the Kurdistan Relations Board.
Among the delegates were Jabar Mirza Rostami, Secretary of the Kurdistan National Party; Berun Omar Fatah, Secretary of the National Reform Movement; Milko Faris, Leader of the Kurdistan Green Party; Abdulqadir Hamid, President of the Progressive Kurdistan Democratic Party; and Sheikh Ali, Secretary of the Peaceful-Makers Movement of Kurdistan.
The delegation emphasized that to have a successful political process and to hold a fair election, there needs to be a change to the electoral legislation, also the necessity to strengthen the commission and clear the voter list. The PUK's initiatives to enhance political parties' capacities, unite the Kurdish homeland and improve relations with one another are highly valued.
Within a part of the meeting, the visiting delegation made it clear that they consider themselves supporters of the PUK's correct policy on national affairs and comrades-in-arms at all stages of political action.
In addition to appreciating the five Kurdish parties' solidarity, the PUK highlighted their commitment to upholding the policy on the political process and governance.
Subsequently, all have agreed that continued meetings shall take place to improve the welfare and quality of life of the Kurdish population and to correct the governance direction.
