Qubad Talabani in Kirkuk meets with the committee of implementing Article 140.
Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with the Article 140 Implementation Committee in Kirkuk to discuss ways to revitalize the committee and address the challenges it faces in its work.
The meeting, which took place on Thursday, was attended by the Chairman of the General Board of Kurdish Regions Outside the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). Topics covered at the meeting included agricultural contracts, difficulties facing Kirkuk's farmers, and how to proceed with implementing Article 140.
Before expressing his support for finding a solution to the problem of agricultural contracts and presenting his ideas with the committee, Qubad Talabani carefully listened to the requests and concerns related to this matter.
He continued, "We will work to reactivate the High Committee on Article 140 in Baghdad and provide funds for its execution so that they can carry out their duties."
Additionally, he emphasized that Article 140 is a settled constitutional matter and is about restoring rights to individuals who were affected by the former regime's policies; thus, it should not be turned into an issue of disagreement between political parties.
Qubad Talabani promised his support for the committee's request for the KRG and the federal government's assistance in performing its duties.
