Sulaymaniyah organizes a fundraising campaign for North and West Kurdistan

Sulaymaniyah Province has launched a campaign named (We Sympathize With You) to gather supplies and aid for Kurds in the north and west.
Dr. Haval Abubakr, the Governor of Sulaymaniyah expressed gratitude to all parties involved in the campaign and stated that they are directly supervising the campaign for collecting aid and supplies for the victims of Turkey and Syria as well as North and West Kurdistan.
The governor said that everyone must fulfill their obligation to act humanely by giving the victims what they need as quickly as possible in order to have an immediate and active role in their welfare.
Sulaymaniyah Mayor Awat Mohammed stated during a news conference: "The inhabitants of the city have always done anything they can to support the Kurds in other parts of Kurdistan."
The campaign was organized by Kurdsat Broadcasting Corporation in coordination with the Amnasuraka Museum, Kurdistan Save the Children, and Horizon Relief Organization.
The campaign additionally requests as many goods from donors as (money, blankets, tents, chairs, wheelchairs, crutches, clothes, and first aid supplies).
"We thank Sulaymaniyah and Kurdsat for this campaign to aid the Kurds in the north and west," Hozan Afrini, President of the Council of Kurdish Refugees of Rojava (West), told PUKMEDIA.
He stated, "The Kurds in the West, especially the earthquake-affected districts, are in a very poor situation, and many people are still under the collapsed structures, and no country or party has paid attention to them." I urge the citizens of the Kurdistan Region and the campaign's organizers to send aid to Kurds in the West so that we can all assist them."
A campaign to aid the earthquake victims in North and West Kurdistan was also launched on Tuesday by Raparin University in association with the Kurdsat Broadcasting Corporation.
In this regard, Raparin University's Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs, Dr. Peshawa Hamid Abdullah, stated: "Raparin University considers it its duty as a national, moral, and humanitarian duty to launch a campaign to aid our brothers and sisters in North and West Kurdistan in the tragedy that has befallen them."
Today, February 7th, from 10 am to 4 pm, the campaign will start, and it will go on for the following days.
President Bafel Jalal Talabani offers condolences to Türkiye and SyriaThe Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President, Bafel Jalal Talabani, issued a statement in reference to the tragic earthquake that rocked Türkiye and Syria and expressed his condolences.
The following is President Bafel's statement:
We share the awful sorrow felt by the families of those who died in the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria.
We beg God to bring healing to those who have been hurt and to grant everyone's safety and serenity.
On Wednesday morning, numerous towns in Turkey and Syria were shaken by an earthquake with a Richter scale reading of 7.4, leaving hundreds dead and injured.
The most recent numbers show that 3381 people have died, 20 thousand 426 have been injured, and 5,000 775 buildings have collapsed in North Kurdistan and Turkey.
Moreover, 1,500 people have died and 3,600 have been injured in West Kurdistan and Syria.
