Iraqi Presidency
World Economic Forum in Davos
The recent World Economic Forum in Davos' presidency sent a letter of gratitude to Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid.
The message which was sent on Monday, January 23, 2023, said:
Dear Mr President,
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your active participation in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2023, held under the theme of Cooperation in a Fragmented World.
Back to its January tradition, the Annual Meeting convened more than 2,700 leaders from government, business and civil society who fostered forward-looking dialogues with a clear overriding focus on impact and solutions.
Despite challenging geo-economic and geopolitical headwinds, there was strong commitment to revitalizing collective action in the form of stabilizing the economy, driving long-term investments and delivering on society's fundamental food, energy and water needs while making greater progress on climate goals.
We truly appreciate your leadership and the positive impact it has had on the Annual Meeting. Your remarks during the panel on Arab Economies Converging were particularly well received by participants. They valued your emphasis on modernizing the economy and reforming the public sector, supporting the private sector and advancing collaboration with Iraq's neighbours. Your remarks provided significant insights into your government's plans for the year ahead.
On behalf of the entire Forum community, thank you again for your crucial support and engagement.
Yours sincerely,
Klaus Schwab Founder and Executive Chairman
Børge Brende President
