UNAMI head says she will report Turkey's attack on Zakho to the UN Security Council

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi confirmed Monday that Iraq has approached the Security Council regarding the recent Turkish attack, while the representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, Jeanine Plasschaert, indicated that she would testify at the Security Council session on the attack.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister affirmed that Iraq would move forward with approaching the UN Security Council regarding the recent Turkish attack, which led to the killing of several innocent Iraqi citizens in the Dohuk Governorate. The Prime Minister called upon the United Nations and the international community to listen to the Iraqi viewpoint in this regard, in a way that enhances Iraq's sovereignty on its territory and protects its citizens.

Plasschaert pointed out that she will make a statement in this regard at a Security Council session dedicated to this matter.

During the meeting, they discussed the areas of cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations Mission, especially regarding measures to conclude the issue of the displaced and provide support to the liberated areas.
