Four missiles target Turkey's Zilikan Camp in Bashiqa

Iraq 11:42 AM - 2022-07-25

Ghiath Surchi, head of the media and relations department at the Nineveh Organizations Center of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), confirmed that a Turkish camp in Bashiqa was subjected to a missile attack.

Surchi told PUKmedia that 4 missiles fell on the Zilikan camp on Sunday night, explaining that this is not the first time that the camp is attacked with missiles.

He revealed that the missiles were launched at sites under the control of the Popular Mobilization Forces.

"The casualties are unknown because the Turkish side prevents any journalist or agency from entering the camp," he added.

A few days ago, Turkey bombed the Barkh resort in the Duhok Governorate, killing 9 citizens and wounding 32 others, while Iraq condemned the blatant attack by submitting a complaint to the UN Security Council.

This is not the first time that the Zilikan Camp is targeted by missile attacks. In April, the camp was targeted twice a week and one of the attacks was more effective than the previous ones in terms of their sound and the holes they left in the vicinity of the camp.

No party or forces claimed responsibility for the attacks.
