CTG issues a statement

The General Directorate of Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG), publish a statement regarding today's operation in the areas of Kifri and Tuz Khurmatu to eliminate the remnants of ISIS.

General Directorate of Counter-Terrorism Group Statement:

Today, May 12, 2022, the General Directorate of Counter-Terrorism Group, in partnership with peshmerga forces, emergency police, and the Iraqi army launched a large-scale operation to eliminate ISIS terrorists in the areas between Kifri and Tuz Khurmatu.

The General Directorate of Counter-Terrorism Group announces that the operation aims is to eliminate ISIS terrorists in the areas and end their activities because several detachments have been seen in the past and have tried to carry out terrorist actions. 

Operations have begun in two areas: the first area, Kifri, Sulaiman Bek, Tuz Khurmatu, and the second in Dawe and villages in the foothills of ghara, to eliminate ISIS remnants in the places.
