University of Sulaimani ranked first in Kurdistan Region

The University of Sulaimani ranked first among the universities in the Kurdistan Region, while it was ranked third in Iraq, according SCImago Institutions Rankings.

The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) is a classification of academic and research-related institutions ranked by a composite indicator that combines three different sets of indicators based on research performance, innovation outputs and societal impact measured by their web visibility.

The institute ranked Sulaimani University first in the Kurdistan Region for the past year 2021, indicating that the university's rank in Iraq rose to be in third place, among the top 10 Iraqi universities, with a score of 760 points, which is only 5 points behind the first rank.

According to the classification, the University of Baghdad ranked first, followed by the University of the Future in the second place.
