Consul General of the Czech Republic congratulates staff of 'The Exam' film

The Consul General of the Czech Republic in the Kurdistan Region, Michal Svoboda, congratulated the team on the Kurdish film "Exam".

"Kurdish film "THE EXAM" premiere in main competition at the 55th Karlovy Vary International Fílm Festival this year. The thrilling drama boldly examining the women's rights," Svoboda tweeted on Friday.

The congratulations came on the occasion of the great success of the Kurdish film “The Exam” at the 55th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic and winning the International Film Critics Award.

The film "The Exam" by Kurdish director Shawkat Amin Korki, which participated in the official competition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic, won the International Film Critics Award.

The film "The Exam" was co-produced by the Kurdistan Region, Germany, and Qatar, and starring by a brilliant elite of actors had its first appearance at the Crystal Globe Competition section of the 55th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic. 

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious festivals in Central and Eastern Europe, and one of the oldest film festivals in the world. 

In its 55th edition, nearly 200 films by filmmakers from all over the world were shown at the festival.

It is noteworthy that the film is the fourth feature-length work of Kurdish director Shawkat Amin Korki, produced by Mehmet Aktas and the Berlin-based German-Kurdish-run company Mitos Film based in Berlin and co-produced by Masti Film" in Berlin, which is a production company from the Kurdistan Region’s Slemani.

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is a film festival held annually in July in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. The Karlovy Vary Festival is one of the oldest in the world and has become Central and Eastern Europe's leading film event.
