The Newroz FC's preliminary games in the Iraqi Premier League will officially take place in the Sulaymaniyah Stadium.
Sulaymaniyah's official football team has chosen the Sulaymaniyah Stadium as a temporary field before the end of construction works at the club's International Stadium, which is decided to end during spring of next year.
In the October of last year, the foundation stone of Newroz International Stadium was laid in October last year in Sulaymaniyah city. The stadium, which is currently under construction, will contain 14,500 seats for fans, a hotel, restaurant, café, car park, basketball stadium, volleyball stadium, and resting places for guests, teams, players, gyms, and a second stadium.
In the 2019-2020 season, Newroz won the Kurdistan Premier League, where they played 15 matches, won 7, drew 5 and lost 3 matches, and collected 26 points.
Newroz participated in the Iraq Division One in the 2020–21 season, and two rounds before the end of the league, the team managed to maintain the top of its Group and remained at the top until the end of the league, where it qualified for the Iraqi Premier League for the first time after collecting 30 points from 9 wins and 3 draw and one loss.
