Sulaymaniyah hosts Elite International Muay Thai Championship

The Central Iraqi Muay Thai Federation received a decision from the Supreme Organizing Committee of the International Elite Tournament, approving granting Iraq the right to host the tournament, after competing with a number of countries such as Tunisia and Bahrain.
Mustafa Jabbar Alak, the Head of the Iraqi Central Muay Thai Federation, said: "The federation received an official letter from the Arab Muay Thai Federation confirming that the Supreme Organizing Committee of the International Elite Championship chose Iraq to host the tournament."
“Iraq was chosen from among several other countries that applied to host the championship, such as Tunisia, Bahrain and Morocco, in which the most prominent world champions participate in the game,” Alak added.
He continued, “The Federation decided to hold the championship in the city of Sulaymaniyah to be the scene of this important global event,” stressing Iraq's ability to reflect a bright image through the successful organization of the tournament and the celebration of brotherly and friendly Arab and international delegations.
