Volcano in Iceland becomes booming tourist attraction
Variety 09:32 PM - 2021-04-03.
On March 19, 2021, a volcano eruption occurred in Iceland's Geldingadalur valley causing great fires and covering the sky with white white ash clouds.
The aftermath of eruptions has created famously fertile ground for tourism. Thousands of tourists visit the area every day to see the beautiful but risky phenomenon.
The eruption in Geldingadalir, now soon two weeks old, shows no signs of weakening. Activity has been building a slowly growing cone around the two active vents in the center, which undergoes constant modifications by accumulating spatter and smaller and larger collapses.
The lava flows continue to fill the valley and might soon start overflowing into one of the adjacent ones; there are even unconfirmed reports that it might have already started to do so.
Dozens of earthquakes have been recorded in the area within the last two weeks which is why scientists have predicted the happening of the volcano.
Scientists also predict that the volcano may not be ending soon.
