In 2014, the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists launched a brutal attack on the Yazidis in Sinjar and its surroundings. Thousands of Yazidis were killed and hundreds of thousands displaced. Thousands of Yazidi girls and women were bought and sold and subjected to slavery by ISIS fighters.
