The Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Qubad Talabani, has shared photographs from his meeting with Ghulam Mohammad Isaczai, the Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).

In a statement accompanying the images, Talabani expressed his pleasure at the meeting, noting ongoing cooperation and engagement with the United Nations presence in Iraq.

He highlighted that UNAMI is approaching the conclusion of its mission in Iraq, with its remaining responsibilities expected to be transferred to other United Nations agencies operating in the country.

Talabani also extended his appreciation for the mission’s long-standing work, thanking UNAMI for its services across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He emphasised that its contributions have been particularly significant in the humanitarian and development sectors, where it has played an important supporting role over the years.
