Kurdistan Region VP, German Military Adviser Discuss Continued Support for Peshmerga

Sheikh Jafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received Lieutenant Colonel Torsten Piecha, German military adviser to the Global Coalition against ISIS, along with his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, both sides discussed Germany’s relations with the Kurdistan Region, the latest political and security developments in Iraq, the threats posed by ISIS to the region, and the military assistance provided by the Coalition to the Peshmerga forces.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuing assistance and joint cooperation with the Peshmerga forces in combating terrorism and addressing security threats, with the aim of strengthening stability and security across the region.

The meeting also addressed efforts to find peaceful solutions to the ongoing conflicts and tensions in the region, as well as the process of reforming and unifying the Peshmerga forces.
