The U.S. military said on Saturday that 23 ships have complied with orders from U.S. forces to turn back toward Iran since the imposition of a blockade on Iranian ports and coastal areas.
At the same time, India’s Ministry of External Affairs confirmed in a statement that two Indian-flagged crude oil tankers were attacked on Saturday while attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran's ambassador to New Delhi, Mohammad Fathali, was called in for a meeting with India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri during which Misri conveyed India's deep concern at the shooting incident involving two Indian-flagged ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
