PUK President, Iraqi PM Discuss Political Situation and Presidential Election Process

PUK President and Iraqi PM meet in Baghdad.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani in Baghdad.

The meeting, attended by Qubad Talabani, Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, members of the Political Bureau, and Justice Minister Khalid Shwani, discussed the political situation in Iraq and the wider region, stressing the importance of maintaining stability across the country.

They also emphasised the need for the Iraqi parliamentary session to elect the President of the Republic, in order to uphold constitutional rights and reinforce political stability in Iraq.
