Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Qubad Talabani has extended his congratulations to the Iraqi people following the national football team’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

In a statement marking the occasion, he offered his “warmest congratulations to all the people of Iraq”, praising the achievement as a moment of national pride.

Talabani also commended the players of the Iraqi national team, highlighting their determination in the face of challenging circumstances. He noted that despite the difficult and stressful conditions, the team succeeded in bringing joy to the hearts of Iraqis through their accomplishment.
