Iraqi Parliament to Hold 13th Session Today to Vote on Standing Committee Membership

The Iraqi Parliament is set to convene its 13th session of the first legislative term today, Wednesday, to vote on the membership of its standing committees.

According to the session agenda, released by the Parliament’s media office and obtained by PUKMEDIA, the meeting will include votes on the members of the standing parliamentary committees as well as general discussions. The session is scheduled to commence at 9:00 PM.

The Parliament held its twelfth session of the sixth electoral cycle of the first legislative year on Monday evening.

At the opening of that session, the Parliament approved the Parliamentary Conduct Committee and the Legal Committee.

The Speaker of Parliament urged the leaders of the parliamentary blocs to expedite the submission of committee member nominations to allow voting during Wednesday’s session.
