Authorities in Seoul are strengthening security and safety measures ahead of a massive comeback concert by global K-pop group BTS, as hundreds of thousands of fans are expected to gather in the South Korean capital.
The large-scale event will take place in central Seoul and is anticipated to draw around 260,000 spectators, making it one of the biggest public gatherings in the city in recent years. Officials say extensive preparations are underway to ensure crowd safety and smooth organisation.
According to the plan announced by the Seoul metropolitan government, thousands of police officers and public officials will be deployed across the venue and surrounding areas. The measures include crowd control systems, traffic management, medical stations and emergency response teams.
The concert marks a major return for BTS following a break during which members completed their mandatory military service. The highly anticipated performance is expected to attract fans from across South Korea and around the world.
Authorities said additional monitoring systems will be used to track crowd movement in real time, while transportation services will be adjusted to accommodate the influx of visitors. Officials also noted that public safety remains the top priority as the city prepares for one of the largest entertainment events of the year.
The event highlights the continuing global influence of BTS and the strong cultural impact of K-pop, with millions of fans expected to follow the concert both in person and through international broadcasts.
