PUK VP: Progress of Any Society Depends on Ensuring Women Freedom

Rifaat Abdullah, Vice President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), extended his congratulations to women and girls in Kurdistan, Iraq and around the world on the occasion of International Women’s Day (IDW).

The PUK Vice President's message read:

"On the occasion of International Women’s Day, I extend my warmest congratulations to all women in Kurdistan, Iraq and the world. I wish them continued progress in their struggle for equality and the protection of their rights.

Kurdistan’s women, through their sacrifices and struggles across all spheres of life, stand as remarkable examples of resilience and pride. They have always been an influential force in the march towards progress and freedom in Kurdistan, and we take great pride in their achievements and their active participation in all aspects of Kurdish life.

On this day, we reaffirm the importance of ending violence against women and safeguarding their rights. We also emphasise that the progress of any society depends on ensuring freedom and strengthening the role of women."
