Airstrikes Target Jurf al-Nasr Area in Babil Governorate

Jurf al-Nasr is located north of Babil Governorate.

Iraq's Joint Operations Command announced that the Jurf al-Nasr (Jurf al-Sakhr) area, north of Babil Governorate, was subjected to several airstrikes on Saturday morning, 28 February 2026.

In a statement, the Command said that the strikes occurred at 11:50 am, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to three others.

The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) confirmed the incident and stated that the relevant authorities have begun taking the necessary measures to investigate the circumstances surrounding the airstrikes and assess the resulting damage.
