President Bafel Reaffirms PUK’s Readiness to Support Government Formation

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met in Baghdad with Mr Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, Prime Minister of Iraq.

During the meeting, they reviewed the latest political developments in Iraq and across the region, underlining the importance of coordination and cooperation among political forces in order to overcome current challenges.

They also discussed the need to meet constitutional obligations and proceed with the formation of the new Iraqi government. President Bafel Jalal Talabani reaffirmed the PUK’s readiness to take part in the election of the President of the Republic and in establishing a strong, service-oriented government capable of delivering for all Iraqi citizens.
