Security Operation Conducted in Garmian Region

Counter-terror operation in Garmian region.

The General Directorate of Counter-Terrorism (CTG) in coordination with the Federal Counter-Terrorism Service and the Global Coalition forces, carried out a security operation in the Garmian region.

In a statement, the Directorate said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to safeguard security and stability in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. It noted that the forces worked jointly with the Federal Counter-Terrorism Service and the Global Coalition forces to eliminate any terrorist threats or sleeper cells in the area.

According to the statement, the operation resulted in the discovery of logistical materials used by terrorists, as well as quantities of ammunition. Several terrorist hideouts were also destroyed during the operation.
