Deputy PM Meets Kuwaiti Ambassador

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, received Hassan Mohammed Al-Zaman, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq, in a meeting also attended by Othman Al-Dawud, the Kuwaiti Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.

During the discussions, both sides highlighted the significance of the historical relationship between their countries and underlined the need to further strengthen ties across multiple sectors, particularly economic and trade relations.

The Kuwaiti Ambassador reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to enhancing its relations with the Kurdistan Region. In response, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasised the Kurdistan Regional Government’s policy of supporting foreign investment, noting the opportunities available for Kuwaiti companies and investors to contribute to the Region’s development, and confirming that the government is ready to provide all necessary support and facilitation.

The meeting also addressed regional and Iraqi affairs, with both parties stressing the importance of joint national and international efforts to maintain stability. The Kuwaiti Ambassador reiterated Kuwait’s support for a stable, strong, and prosperous Iraq as a neighbouring country.
