Global Coalition moves to Eastern Aleppo.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported this morning that forces of the global coalition have departed their positions in Raqqa and are moving toward the city of Dayr Hafir in eastern Aleppo. The movement comes amid rising military tensions in the region.
SOHR noted that this deployment follows the declaration of Dayr Hafir and surrounding areas, including Lafta, as a “military zone” by local government forces three days ago. The move coincides with the placement of heavy weapons under the authority of the Syrian Transitional Government’s Ministry of Defense.
Authorities have advised residents to relocate to safer villages, amid ongoing clashes and heightened military activity.
The SOHR welcomed the coalition’s movement, suggesting it may help reduce heavy fighting in the area. The organisation indicated that this development could lead to a cessation of exchanges and continuous clashes between government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), potentially easing tensions along the eastern Aleppo frontlines.
The situation remains fluid, with the global coalition and local forces maintaining a strong presence in the area as military operations continue.
