PUK Delegation Visits Sulaymaniyah Churches to Convey Christmas Greetings

On Thursday, 25 December 2025, Sarkawt Zaki, a member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), visited St Joseph Chaldean Catholic Church and Chawarchray Church in Sulaymaniyah to convey Christmas greetings on behalf of the PUK and its President, Bafel Jalal Talabani, while reaffirming the importance of peaceful coexistence.

Zaki was accompanied by Salar Lala Sarhad, a member of the PUK Leadership Council.

During the meetings, Zaki conveyed warm congratulations from President Bafel and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence, as well as the historical role played by Christian brothers and sisters in the building and development of Kurdistan.

In response, Father Ayman Aziz of St Joseph Chaldean Catholic Church and Father Shenouda Hakim of Chawarchray Church expressed their appreciation for the visit. They voiced hope that the festive season would further strengthen the spirit of unity, love and mutual respect among all communities in Kurdistan.
