Chamchamal floods.
The process of compensating families affected by the recent floods in Chamchamal and surrounding areas has begun in the district.
Atta Mohammed, head of the Chamchamal Relief Organisation, told PUKMEDIA: “A specialised committee has assessed the damage suffered by citizens as a result of the recent floods and torrential rains.”
He added: “The compensation process began today and is progressing well. We thank the citizens for their patience. The cheques are ready for distribution to affected families, and each recipient can visit the bank to collect their allocated compensation.”
Mohammed continued: “Today’s compensation covers 639 families from Chamchamal district affected by the recent floods. Payments will then be extended to families in the sub-districts of Shorsh, Tekiya, and Aghjalar.”
He noted that compensation ranges from 400,000 to 4,950,000 Iraqi dinars, with each family receiving an amount based on the extent of damage to their property.
