International Genocide Conference Opens in Yerevan

An international conference on genocide commenced in Yerevan, Armenia, on Monday, 8 December 2025, bringing together leading genocide scholars from around the world, along with representatives of communities that have suffered genocide.

The two-day event, organised by Yerevan University in cooperation with the Centre for Human Rights and Genocide Studies, will include the presentation of numerous research papers and academic contributions.

Hemn Mam Rash, President of the Kurdish–Armenian Friendship Association, has been formally invited to attend the conference. He is delivering a paper on the genocide of Kurds and Yazidis in the Kurdistan Region, carried out by the Ba’ath regime and the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organisation.
