Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, received Daniel Kreber, the German Ambassador to Iraq, on Saturday, 6 December 2025, and they discussed the latest political developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the political landscape in the Kurdistan Region and ongoing efforts to form the new government. Deputy PM Talabani reaffirmed that they are ready to establish a government based on genuine partnership—one that serves all citizens and all areas of Kurdistan without discrimination.
Turning to the broader political process in Iraq, Deputy PM Talabani stressed that the country requires a strong and effective government capable of safeguarding Iraq’s sovereignty and independence, while also taking essential steps to strengthen the national economy.
He further emphasised that the priority for both the future governments of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region must be to reach a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.
