Qubad Talabani: Women’s Rights Are Core to PUK’s Identity

Qubad Talabani affirmed that defending women’s rights and their position in society is a central part of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s (PUK) identity, noting that the party has consistently been a model for women’s participation in decision-making roles.

During a meeting with a group of women in Erbil, Talabani stated that the PUK has worked diligently to strengthen women’s status within the party, the government, and all decision-making bodies.

He added that the PUK will work in cooperation with civil society organisations and relevant stakeholders to put an end to violence against women.
