U.S. Condemns Terrorist Attack on Khor Mor Gas Field in Sulaymaniyah

The United States has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on the Khor Mor gas field in Sulaymaniyah, describing it as part of a wider pattern of attempts by malign actors to destabilise Iraq and target American investments in the Kurdistan Region.

In a statement, The U.S. Consulate expressed solidarity with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and other Iraqi partners, urging the Government of Iraq to take immediate action to hold those responsible to account.

“We stand ready to support efforts to protect this critical infrastructure and continue to emphasise the importance of Iraq asserting its sovereignty in the face of such attacks,” the statement said. The U.S. also highlighted the need for all weapons, including drones, missiles, and rockets, to be brought under state control to prevent further threats to national security and regional stability.
