IHEC Finalises Majority of Appeals on Iraqi Election Results

The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has announced that it has finalised its reports on the appeals submitted against the results of the Iraqi parliamentary elections held on 11 November 2025.

Speaking to PUKMEDIA, IHEC spokesperson Jumana al-Ghalai confirmed that the Commission had prepared its responses to 406 appeals and forwarded them to the Electoral Judicial Commission, which has since dismissed 36 of them.

She added that the IHEC has also completed its responses to a further 122 appeals, which have likewise been sent to the Electoral Judicial Commission for consideration. In total, the Commission has now addressed 528 of the 872 appeals lodged against the election results.
