PUK President: Working with Optimism to Form a Government Based on Constitution

PUK President and UN Special Representative meet in Dabashan.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Mohammed Al Hassan, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Iraq, in Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.

The meeting focused on the latest political developments following the Iraqi parliamentary elections. President Bafel described the success of the process as a positive incentive to advance democracy and sustain stability in Iraq.

The discussion also covered the formation of a new Iraqi government. Bafel Jalal Talabani stated: “We are working with optimism and determination to unite national efforts to form a government grounded in the Constitution, unity, and service to the people, because our beloved citizens deserve greater service, and we are committed to fulfilling our promises.”

Several other issues were also addressed during the meeting.
