PUK Secures Strong Vote Counts in Iraq’s Preliminary Election Results

The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission has announced the preliminary results of the Iraqi parliamentary elections.
According to the figures, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), running under list number 222, secured 97,301 votes in Erbil Governorate and 240,899 votes in Sulaymaniyah Governorate.
In Kirkuk Governorate, the PUK topped the poll with 178,629 votes.
The PUK contested the elections in Nineveh Governorate as part of the “Nineveh People’s Union” Coalition, list number 281, which comprised 31 candidates. The coalition secured 56,346 votes.
In Diyala Governorate, the PUK ran independently under list number 222 and received 29,044 votes.
In Saladin Governorate, the National Jamahiriya list obtained 67,402 votes, with the National Union participating through one candidate who secured a seat in the Iraqi parliament.
In Baghdad, Dr Ayat Adham a candidate representing the PUK, secured a parliamentary seat as part of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, obtaining 4,702 votes.
These results highlight the PUK’s strong presence and broad participation across several Iraqi provinces through various electoral alliances.
