The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Yazidi community in Kurdistan and abroad on the occasion of the Jama holiday, wishing them peace, stability, and prosperity.
The PUK Political Bureau's message reads: "On the occasion of the Jama holiday, we extend our warmest congratulations to our Yazidi brothers and sisters in Kurdistan and around the world. We hope that the Yazidis in Kurdistan will celebrate their religious rituals in an atmosphere of stability, overcome the difficulties and tragedies of the past, and that Shingal [Sinjar] and other Yazidi areas will prosper, leading a life of joy and happiness."
The Jama Holiday is one of the most significant and ancient Yazidi religious celebrations, observed annually from 6 to 13 October. Each year, Yazidis from across the world gather at Lalish Temple in Sheikhan, Nineveh, to pray and participate in a week of religious ceremonies.
