President Rashid Meets Armenian Counterpart in New York to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Iraqi President and Armenian President meet in New York.
As part of his participation in the United Nations General Assembly in New York, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr AbdulLatif Jamal Rashid, received the President of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturian, at his residence.
The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and explored avenues for strengthening cooperation in the fields of the economy, culture, and higher education. President Rashid underlined the importance of expanding partnerships and enhancing coordination within international forums.
They also discussed the proceedings and outcomes of the General Assembly, alongside current global developments. The presidents exchanged views on key challenges confronting the international community, including rising international tensions and the associated crises of food and energy security, migration, and climate change. Both emphasised the necessity of upholding international law and fostering dialogue as a means of resolving conflicts and safeguarding global peace and security.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to supporting multilateral initiatives aimed at tackling global challenges and bolstering international solidarity in the face of security, humanitarian, and economic crises.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Mr Qubad Talabani; the Minister of Health, Dr Saleh al-Hasnawi; the Chief of Staff of the Presidency, Dr Kamil al-Dulaimi; the Prime Minister’s Adviser, Dr Khalid al-Yaqoubi; together with a number of officials from both delegations.
