Iraqi President, KRG Deputy PM Attends UN’s 80th Anniversary Celebration in New York

Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid participated in the United Nations’ 80th anniversary celebration at the organisation’s headquarters in New York, highlighting Iraq’s appreciation for the UN’s role in safeguarding international peace and security, while advancing respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms across the globe.

President Rashid was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Qubad Talabani, National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji, Head of the Presidency’s Advisors and Experts Board Dr. Ali Al-Shukri, and Prime Minister’s Adviser Dr. Khalid al-Yaqubi.

The commemorative event brought together world leaders and dignitaries to mark eight decades of the United Nations’ work and reaffirm their collective commitment to the organisation’s principles and mission.
