Kurdistan Presidency, US Delegation Hold Talks on Peshmerga Reforms

A meeting between the Kurdistan Presidency and US Delegation.

The Kurdistan Regional Presidency announced on Tuesday that it would host a fresh round of joint discussions with a United States military and diplomatic delegation to review reforms within the Peshmerga forces and ways to expedite them.

In a statement received by PUKMEDIA, the Presidency confirmed that the meeting was attended by representatives from several regional institutions alongside the US delegation. The discussions highlighted the importance of ensuring the success of the reform process and the unification of the Peshmerga forces.

The statement further noted that the talks covered the latest developments in the reform and unification process, including the stages yet to be completed.

It added that the meeting also examined efforts to overcome obstacles to unifying the Peshmerga and considered mechanisms to strengthen cooperation and coordination between both sides.
