CTG Arrests Wanted ISIS Operative in Kirkuk

ISIS terrorists CTG Global Coalition

The General Directorate of Counter-Terrorism (CTG) has arrested a wanted ISIS terrorist during a joint operation with Global Coalition Forces and the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (ICTS) in the Hawija district, south of Kirkuk Governorate.

According to a CTG statement received by PUKMEDIA, the operation was based on precise intelligence and targeted the Zab area of Hawija. The suspect, M.A.M., born in 1988, was involved in logistical, military, and medical activities for ISIS and maintained links with networks across Mount Qarachogh, Sargaran (Dibs), Zab, Hawija, and the Hamrin Mountains.

The CTG added that M.A.M. had participated in attacks on Iraqi security forces and civilians, as well as planting mines and improvised explosive devices. Prior to his arrest, he operated within sleeper cells in Zab. Many of his family members and relatives had also been previously detained under Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law.

Following his arrest and interrogation, the suspect has been handed over to the judiciary to face legal proceedings.
