President Bafel and Italian Ambassador.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), welcomed Niccolò Fontana, the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, at Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.
The meeting, which was also attended by Tommaso Sansone, the Italian Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, focused on the latest political developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the wider region.
President Bafel highlighted the ongoing issues between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, stating: “We are continuing our efforts to resolve all outstanding matters, and we hope that all parties will remain committed to the agreements reached.”
On the subject of forming the new Kurdistan Regional Government cabinet, he remarked:
“I trust that the negotiations between the delegations of the PUK and the Kurdistan Democratic Party will soon bear fruit, paving the way for the establishment of a government dedicated to serving the people.”
