Walid Phares, a foreign policy expert, shared his views on X on 14 August 2025 regarding recent attacks in Syria.

In his post, Phares stated that jihadist forces have targeted Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) positions and he emphasised that, under mutual anti-ISIS defense protocols, U.S. air assets would need to respond directly to these jihadist attacks.

“Not strike at U.S. allies to help jihadists,” Phares wrote, highlighting the U.S. commitment to protecting its partners in the fight against terrorism.
